The run all-day, 2500E Hybrid Greensmower by John Deere. It's about advanced technology. And common sense. The 2500E is a hybrid mower that puts power in its proper place. With a choice of a gas or diesel engine, the 2500E powers the reels using a belt-driven alternator. By removing all of the hydraulics from the cutting units, we've eliminated 102 potential leak points. And since 90% of all hydraulic leaks occur in the reel circuit, the possibility of a leak is extremely remote. |

How time flies: In 1986, John Deere decided to enter the
golf and turf business. It's an understatement to say we weren't
an overnight success but by learning from our mistakes and,
most importantly, listening to what superintendents and technicians
wanted and needed, via our feedback programmes run throughout
North America, Australia, Europe and Japan, we started releasing
machines that were right for the course. These included the
2653A Surrounds Mower, the 3215 and 3235B Series Lightweight
Fairway Mowers, Aercore Aerators, and the 2500 Tri-Plex Greens
Mower. Recent and future arrivals include the E-Gator Electric
Turf Gator, the ProGator heavy duty utility vehicle, the B
Series Fairway Mowers, the Aercore 2000, and the wide Area
Flex mower WAFM 1620.
John Deere Golf and Turf worked with our finance arm, John
Deere Credit, to develop the John Deere Master Operating Lease
for Golf and Turf products, in order to make life easier for
Superintendents at courses under financial pressure. Thanks
to products like these, John Deere will soon become the leader
in golf course equipment sales. We owe a great deal of that

down it's the most productive transmission you can buy.
Only John Deere hydrostatics offer Twin Touch foot controls.
This patented, two-pedal design is easier to use, and more
comfortable for your foot especially compared to the treadle-pedal
designs used on some competitive hydro tractors. John Deere
hydrostatic transmissions also give you usable turning brakes.
Hydrostatic pedals are on the tractors right side, brakes
on the left. To make a sharp turn, you can operate the hydro
with your right foot, and a turning brake with your left.
The brakes on these tractors are also top performers.
Just like our huge agricultural and construction equipment,
these tractors feature wet disk brakes. Compared to conventional
dry-type brakes, they require little adjustment. And since
they are oil cooled they last much longer. Another key to
John Deere advantage is cruise control. It locks in the forward
speed you want. This is perfect for spraying, golf course
work or anywhere you want a uniform ground speed. Safety features
on the hydrostatic include a starter interlock. The tractor
won't start unless the hydro pedals are in neutral. Plus if
the hydro pedals are depressed without an operator in the
seat, the engine will shut off. This prevents the accidental
movement of the tractor.
