Like their namesake, the John Deere Turf Gator® and the
E-Gator® Electric Utility Vehicles are perfectly adapted
to their environment - the golf course. Their unique combination
of toughness and quietness makes the difference.
Gator toughness starts with a heavy-duty, welded frame with
uni-body construction. Brawny one-piece forged axles and cast-aluminium
axle housings also provide ruggedness and durability.
Turf Gator quietness comes from an isolation-mounted engine,
large-volume muffler, and internal sound-absorbing material.
In addition, the foot-pedal start works just like a golf cart
- you simply press a pedal to start and accelerate.
The E-Gator is designed to accelerate faster, climb hills
with ease, and perform all day long. A separately excited
controller gives this Gator features like overspeed control,
roll-away control, dynamic braking and regeneration. And solid

When you first encounter a hydrostatic
transmission, it seems too good to be true.
Set the throttle for the engine speed you want, and then
just push the forward pedal until you've got the right ground
speed for the conditions. The farther you push the pedal,
the faster the ground speed. To slow down, just back off on
the pedal. To go in reverse, just move your foot from the
forward pedal and step on the reverse pedal. No gears to shift.
No clutches to push.
